A LETTER TO OUR PATIENTS:
The providers and staff at Scotch Institute of Ear Nose & Throat are committed to providing you with the highest quality ENT care. We want to let you know we are continuing to serve you and our community with some changes in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
As many of you know, this is an evolving issue with new information received daily. We want to assure you that as a health care practice we are closely monitoring directives from the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida Department of Health, our medical societies, and other information sources. We are continuously providing information and training to our staff to ensure that all our patients receive the safest and best care possible, while keeping our staff safe and healthy.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our office will be operating in a different manner beginning Monday March 23.
Most importantly, we are still here for you!
How to reach us:
Our phones will remain open from 8:30-5 (closed between 12-1).
You can send us a message through the patient portal. If you have not signed into your patient portal, now is a good time to do so. Please call our office for your sign-in information if you do not have it.
We have audiology services available every day. If you have hearing aid repairs/adjustments, we offer by curb-side service at your appointment time, and when you call us when you arrive, you won’t need to come out of your car. Our audiologist will come to your car to get your hearing aid and then bring it back to you once serviced.
Many hearing aid brands may be able to have remote programming, where you can get updates from comfort of your home! Ask your audiologist about this. Let us know if you need batteries or other hearing aid supplies and we can safely bring them to you in your car, or mail them out to you!
Our allergy nurse is available to you for phone calls to answer any questions for you. If you need a new supply of allergy drops, at your appointment time please remain in your car and call us when you arrive. We will deliver the allergy drops to you curb-side!
At this time, all speech appointments will be rescheduled for a later time, hopefully June.
We are now offering telehealth / telemedicine appointments for all patients. This is a very easy process and will give you audio and video access to your doctors and nurse practitioner from the comfort and safety of your home.
In addition to video visits, we have remote check-in appointments by phone and e-mail available. If you have an issue for which you are unsure if a visit is needed, you may initiate communication with your provider electronically through a telephone call or patient portal message. Your provider will determine if a video or in-person visit must be scheduled.
We are still open for seeing patients in-person. Should a visit to our office be necessary, please complete all necessary paperwork online before your appointment. We ask that you arrive wearing your own mask, and please wait in your car. Call us when you arrive at 813-994-8900 to “check in”. No visitors will be permitted in the office unless the patient is a minor or requires assistance from a caregiver.
We encourage you to keep yourself updated on information about the Coronavirus by visiting the following websites:
We feel strongly about the social role we play in attempting to minimize the diffusion of potentially threatening infections and will continue to evaluate and make changes as more information develops each day.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home.
Our warmest regards,
Dr. Brett Scotch, Dr. Janet Seper, Nurse Bing, and the Staff of Scotch Institute of Ear Nose & Throat
